I need a minute!!! Gimme a minute to sit down.. take a deep breath..and write this long overdue blog!! I've been on the go for the past 5 days... I'm so tired!

I had such a FABULOUS weekend! It was fun and hectic and I loved every minute of it! It started off FABULOUSLY on friday afternoon when i met up with my lilly in the city and we did some shopping ( i was frantically looking for a dress to wear to prom and lilly saved me from the brink of desperation by finding me a cute sexy black dress... and most importantly..CHEAP!) lol We had a lovely dinner with a nice bottle of wine and chatted for hours, and then roamed the bars a little but opted for an early night.

Saturday morning i made the long journey to Candace's place and the plan was to do gym together. She called me while i was on my way and the conversation went something along these lines:

SHE: Sooooooooo there's a bodybalance class from 12 to 1, and after i got my personal trainer from 1 to 2, and at 2 there's a body pump class, and maybe after we could do hill training on the threadmill......

ME: Did you have a plate of CRAZY for breakfast?!?!?!

Plans were obviously changed because otherwise i wouldnt be here today to type this post. We limited ourselves to hill training and the bodypump class which was actually torturous and i was taking pleasure from seeing the pain in lilly's face - serves you right you stuck up gym freak!! :P

Prom Prom Prom... I know you are all dying to hear about this! hahahahahaha! Oh it was such a great party! As i suspected most people just dressed nicely but a couple did have funny costumes. They also had Prom King, Prom Prnce, and Prom Princess awards ...all won by boys... mainly because it was a gay party so the boys wanted all the drama-queen attention! ..except that my date won prom PRINCESS which is worth some further investigation!! hahahahaha So the boys had a good time in their tiaras and the club was full and everybody danced and had a great time! Grahams friends were very sweet to me but i did seem to get a couple of icy-stares... i think i have competition...some of the boys wanna get their hands on my hot date!!! Usually women have to worry about other women but it seems like i have to worry about BOTH!! hahahahahaha! I love a good challenge ;-)

Sunday we had a lovely day planned out at one of Hong Kong's neighbouring islands... so i was up early and switched from prom mode to adventure-woman! The island of Cheung Chau is only half an hour away but it seems like a world away from the busy streets of HK. This island is laid-back...jam packed with delicious seafood restaurants..and no cars in sight! Our plan was to kayak and the weather was great and it turned out to be a fantastic day! Me Juice-Ladeeeey

Following several boring days of ingesting medicines I can proudly say that i am now on the road to recovery. My routine has been completely disrupted - i'm used to going to gym or going out after work but due to my zombie-like state i was heading home for a hot mug of tea ... and what can one do in an apartment all by themselves to pass time?? ... COOK!!! So i've been turning my kitchen upside down and feeding myself all sorts of delicious stuff! hey... i'm not complaining! :-P

However my most delicious treat is my juice lady who is actually a fruit lady who makes juice too. She is my new best friend. I like to call her Lilly. She's got all these amazing juices and every day i treat myself to one of her lovely 100% fruit concoctions. I'm a sucker for banana milkshake so my heart is always set on that but i have been making an effort to try other stuff and right now i'm hooked on carrot and orange. Thats until i got to school drinking my juice and my chinese colleague told me that if i drink/eat too much carrot my skin will turn blotchy!! Hmmm.. urban myth or horrific fact?!?!

Please rise for a standing ovation. I have a date on Saturday!! Hi my name is Tsotsa and it's been 10 years since my last date... ok maybe not 10 years but it feels like 10 years! I know!!! It's hard to believe i don't date more than i do considering i'm such a sweet, nice person! :-P Anyway i have a date so that means there is hope for all the rest of you out there! So his name is Graham and actually i've already been on a bunch of dates with him(he is the guy i met at the roof party a couple of weeks back) but next saturday is his friend's birthday and he has invited me to be his official date to his friend's party! FuN! Actually it's a dress up party and the theme is 'Prom Night' so for one night I am going to embrace american culture and slip into a dress and possibly a tacky tiara and do my best prom queen impersonation! (photos to follow soon hopefully;-)

Over the past couple of weeks i've been getting to know my colleagues more and i'm telling you they're a crazy bunch. Our school runs pretty smoothly and the head teacher is so nice and friendly so it doesnt feel like we have someone breathing down our back.Besides the usual hilarious things that the chinese teachers do (such as squealing at the top of their voices and laughing like 1oyr olds) I've discovered that they are a bunch of fashion-obsessed ladies. The staff who work in the office have labeled their stationery according to their favourite brands -- yes... we have a Chanel stapler, a Louis Vuitton perforator and a Miu Miu desk organiser!! Classy!!

Tomorrow is finally friday and i'm overjoyed cos i'm leaving work early to collect my ID card from immigration offices. This actually shouldnt take long, after which i will meet up with my lilly and another friend lizzie and we'll treat ourselves to some nice girly drinks and dinner! :-) Bliss!

The Lilly & Lilly Running Club

Greetings from the land of germs! Yes it has finally happened...i'm officially sick. I feel like shit. I took a sick day today and just moped around at home with bits of tissue stuck to my nose. I hate all this discomfort and the worst part is being alone! All i wanted is someone here to tuck me in and bring me some hot soup and listen to me moan! The harsh reality of living by yourself is that you have to wear your jacket and walk to the take-out on the corner to get your soup...or die of hunger!

Overall i had a good weekend! My darling Lilly and I ran our 5km race on Saturday which turned out very well. Unfortunately it was raining so the weather was kind of gloomy and quite chilly. The race was held in the hills on Hong Kong island which is a really beautiful wooded kind-of place. The route was pretty tough with lots of hills so it was quite a hard run. Needless to say.. my Lilly managed the whole race! She's a tough lady! I hadn't done hill training in a while so it was hard for me too! There was a nice atmosphere and people were there to cheer us on so it was really fun to be part of it!

My sis sent a goody parcel last week with chocolates, biscuits and salamis... so yesterday i visited Candace in Tuen Mun and we had a lovely indoor picnic with fresh bread, salami, cheese and tomatoes! MMMM delicious!

Anyway..i've been sleeping all day but i'm yawning away and pretty much read for bed again! Hope to be better soon! :-( Boooo Anybody feels like being a nurse you're welcome to come over!

Heeeey Y'Alll.... 'Suuuuuuup! Greetings from da Hong Kong hood!

Umm.. sorry... been listening to some RnB! :-P I wished for a lazy Saturday morning snoozing in bed and what i got was my internal alarm waking me at 7:30am and no chance of getting a wink of sleep after that! So i thought i'd be useful and do some cleaning!

Aaaah its finally the weekend! I'm trying to savour it cos it always seems to go by so quickly! Grrr! Yesterday evening i wasn't feeling too well so i just lazed on the sofa for most of the night. I've had this weird scratchy-itchy throat thingy going on all week and i keep thinking i'm gonna wake up sick but i'm always stuck at the 'almost-sick' stage?! I've just decided to ignore it. We've now developed a love-hate relationship.

This morning after my intensive cleaning i went for a class of pilates which i'm crazy about. I'm so happy with my gym situation.. i just walk straight out of my door..cross the road...and hello gym. Only one thing concerns me... the naked women in the changing rooms! Now seriously... why do women have to stand around naked?!? I limit myself to a quick dry with the towel and then start to dress right away..but this week there was this one lady who just stood around in front of these huge mirrors rubbing moisturiser on her face!! And the other day, this flabby old lady stood naked while she dried her hair! For God's sake.. put some clothes on!! The only positive thing is that most of them are sans-curves and pretty shapeless... so i get my sweet revenge by parading myself (in underwear!!!) around the changing room!
OOAHAHAHAAAAAAAA *evil*

In more piggish news... yesterday my colleagues Paulina and Alex introduced me to our 'hood ice cream place.. and i'm telling you... it is to die for.. and now i can't get it out of my mind!!! I had this amazing apple pie ice cream and the bloody thing tasted just like it and it even had bits of apples and crust!! Diviiiiiine!!

This afternoon i'm on my way to meet Candace as we are running a 5km race today! The race is gonna be held somewhere up in the hilly area of hong kong island..so hopefully it will be a scenic route with some nice fresh air.

Maybe I will deserve ice cream after that? ;-) hihihihihihihihihihihihi

Couch-Crasher!

I wish you could all see me right now! I've just had dinner and i'm sprawled across my sofa... and i'm pretty sure that if i concentrate hard enough i could sink into it and become part of it.. some weird scientific reaction where body matter becomes fabric and fluff and whatever else a sofa is made of!! Don't worry.. i'm not leaving just yet!

So another week has started and nothing really new is going on! School is ok.. the other teachers are getting used to me and i'm quite friendly with the other foreign teachers. I do nothing in the afternoon which makes the day a bit dragging but i am equipped with a novel and i also have a spanish grammar book so i'm planning to do some studying! On the positive side the staff are pretty relaxed and unlike at my other school where i had to sit in this room and do this and that, at this school nobody seems to care as long as i'm on the premises. I did actually take a nap face down on a table today! hahahahahaha! Its the mid-afternoon daze... i couldnt help it!

Last weekend was so much fun! On friday night i cooked mqarrun for 2 of my colleagues and we had a quiet night in with a bottle of wine and girly chats! It was fun getting to know them! Saturday was my sweet Lilly's birthday and after spending the day running errands and getting my hair done we headed for a fun night on the town. We started off at a nice restaurant called Jaspas which is pretty much Italian food. After that we headed to 'Joyce is not here' where the night got going as more people joined! I was really excited cos I knew my crush was gonna show up ...so i had all these butterfly-stomach feelings!! hahahahaha i was seriously nervous.. i havent had a crush in ageeeees! :-P The night was fun and everyone had a great time... including our birthday girl who was the last to take her party shoes off!! I'm so proud of youuuU! ;-)

In interesting news... im sure you are all eagerly awaiting my return to the rock in a few weeks. I've confirmed my flights and i'll be arriving on Friday 27th April just 2 days before the wedding. I'll be leaving on Sunday 6th May, which means that after all the wedding-pressure is over i'll be hanging around for a whole week! Isn't that great?! :-) I'm so excited! I expect to be welcomed with open arms and be spoilt in the following ways -

Food Food Food ... where can i start... i want maltese bread, gbejniet, zebbug, tadam mqaddet and the works.... Pastizzi ta-martin.... Cuccagna Pizza... A nice dinner with friends.... picnic on the beach..possibly one maltese swim?.... BBQ??? OMG i really have to stop hahahhaha! Oh i also need a driver hehehehhehe... I am currently accepting applications for this position ;-)

And speaking of food... i received the most amazing parcel from my darling sister yesterday... full to the brim with super goodies!! Lots of easter chocolates, twistees!!, salamis and sausages all the way from germany, and these delicious italian biscuttini!! Waaaa im ecstatiC! :-)

I've been torturing myself at the gym all week! I feel great ... if only my body would stop aching!! :-P Besides running i tried a pilates class which was hard work but really fun! And wednesday early morning i did a spinning class before work..and im telling you it wasnt pretty! It's been 2 days and my bum is still sore!! Whoever designed bicycles really had no idea of comfort?! I was thinking of doing tomorrows spinning class but i have got a grip on myself and decided not to.

The weekend is just round the corner.. im so excited! I can't wait to sleep in and laze about! Also it's lilly's birthday on saturday and i predict that we are gonna have a good time. (Also i get to see my crush...hehehehe...hellooo loveeer!) Tomorrow im having a quiet night in and a couple of my colleagues are coming over with a bottle of wine and we are gonna have dinner together. I bought a mini- oven yesterday and we are gonna inaugurate it! ;-) Should be fun!

Also i bought some plants for my apartment... being the plant person that i am ... i dont think it will be long before theyre dead and wilted.
We'll see... i might surprise myself! ;-)

Fine! The strike is officially over! For those of you who DIDNT leave a comment you should know that you are no longer welcome on this site and it is going to take me years and years to get over the heartbreak (unless you make it up to me with cake and flowers..in that case i will get over it!) For those who DID leave a comment....'aaaaw you guuuuys!' .. *tear* !

The last few days have been busy!! Im feeling like i just wanna curl up in bed and do nothing but sleep for a whole bloody day! (which i plan to do next sunday..thats 5 days away!!!..grrr). I had such a fantastic weekend!! On friday i escaped from work early with the excuse that i needed to go to immigration and get my IDcard but actually i had already got that done! *hangs head low in guilt* ... YEAH RIGHT! I met up with my sweet lilly in the epi-centre of HK chaos which is known as causeway bay where i vented about my horrible week of cleaning and did some shopping to cure my depression! I made a quick trip to IKEA where i picked up some bits n pieces for my apartment including a cute pink blanket for my bed and a nice throwover for my couch. Yes ladies and gentlemen...my grotesque apartment is receiving some 5 star treatment!

Friday night we were invited to our friend Darren's housewarming party...which actually was a terrace-on-the-28th-floor-with-fantatic-views-of-hk-housewarming! Me likeeeeey! ;-) And what i liked even more was the amazing barbecue that darren prepared!! A mediterranean girl like me just needs her bbq once in a while! I swear it was delicious! As delicious as the cute boy i picked out from the crowd and chatted with for most of the night! ;-) Cuuute! It was a really great night and i had a great time mingling and meeting people..even though I always end up chatting with my lilly...its like i can't get enough of that bitch! (and the cheese platter)

Saturday is a hazy memory... i spent most of the day lazing on candace's couch and raiding her fridge and cupboard for nibbles (none found!) and tried my best at giving moral support as she headed to her blind date! I headed home and actually found the energy to go out again even though it was just a quiet night at a bar... we had some fun chats though!

On Sunday, much to my complete horror, i had to go to work!!! Our school was taking part in a fun fair held in the area so the english teachers were posted on the 'hand painting' stand. Besides painting butterflies and flowers ad nauseum we also had a laugh at a couple of adults who came to get hand painted! Uuumm hellooooo... this is for the kids!!?! I had a man ask for a teddy bear!! You gotta love them! :-P After school i treated myself to a quiet evening of laundry and takeout noodles.

In fitness related news.. i have joined the fanciest gym ever..and the sweetest thing about it? Its just round the corner from my door!! The place has a zillion threadmills and flat screen tvs along every wall so you can plug your headphones into any machine and watch tv while you workout! Cool! They also have loads of classes! I just got back from a late evening pilates lesson - all lessons are held in english and chinese... which might be an interesting way to learn the language! I'll be saying 'tighten that ass' and 'stretch those legs wide' in no time!! ;-)

Ok now i really gotta get to bed cos i got a spinning class at 7 tomorrow morning!! Call me crazy!

It is good manners to leave messages in response to my posts. It is heart breaking when i write a post and get no comments in return. Just think back to the old days when the only means of communication was by post and you would have to write a letter, go to the post office, wait in a line to buy stamps and finally send it off.
